It's A Good Day For Good Hair! Plaza Theatre, in collaboration with Swirl Entertainment and the Ellipsis Tree Collective (E.T.C) theatre ensemble, is pleased to present the Good Hair Groove-On Party just prior to the Plaza's Calgary Premiere of Good Hair-the critically acclaimed new movie by Chris Rock! Please mingle with us at this entertaining event on Friday, November 27th starting at 6:45 PM, at the Plaza Theatre in Kensington; Calgarians have a chance to step out, top hair-do's in gear, at the "Good Hair" party of a lifetime, complete with comedy, D.J., spoken word, giveaways and an exciting "Style-Off" between Calgary's top hair dressers. Good Hair the movie will immediately be shown at 8pm right after the Good Hair Groove-On Party. The party is free with regular Plaza Theatre general admission, on a first-come, first serve basis, so get there early! Good Hair was a top pick (no pun intended) at major film festivals including the Toronto Film Festival and Sundance. The Globe and Mail calls it a "fascinating, complex tale." The New York Times says Good Hair is "spirited, probing and frequently hilarious." Chris Rock takes his audience on a journey that spans, not only barbershops and ethnicities, but continents as well. If you have ever "tangled" with your hair, this movie is for you! Storyline and Comments
Storyline: Daniel Frever ran away from home when he was young, leaving his younger brother Alan at home. Nine years later, he sees that his younger brother Alan, now a filmmaker, is holding auditions for his upcoming movie. Daniel must audition to be his brother again.

DANIEL

He bangs on the door and jiggles the knob.
DANIEL (CONT’D)
that’s cold....
Nothing
DANIEL (CONT’D)
You said coffee.
ALAN
I said you need a break from this room.
DANIEL
WE! You said WE need a break.
ALAN
And here we have one
Daniel bangs on the door.
ALAN (CONT’D)
How much time do I have?
DANIEL
Hours you dick!
ALAN
That’s not a way to get in buddy.
DANIEL
K listen....
Alan listens in close.
DANIEL (CONT’D)
...I still have your handcuffs, let me in now and you’ll get them back.
ALAN
Blackmail?
DANIEL
progressive arguing.
ALAN
What?! retard! Just slide them under the door, on the right side, my ass is on the left.
Daniel sits down against the door, playing with the handcuffs.
DANIEL
I’m not giving them back... Ooh it comes with keys!
He takes the keys off the chain and opens and closes the handcuffs.
ALAN
K I have a deal for you. Give them back now or I’ll call the cops.
Daniel hits his head back against the door.
DANIEL
You ARE a dick.
Looking to the side, Daniel notices something.
DANIEL (CONT’D)
Open the door
ALAN
Give me back the cuffs or I’m calling the cops, I’m getting my phone out right now.
DANIEL
Open the door or I’ll pull the fire alarm.
Alan looks up from his phone.
DANIEL (CONT’D)
I’ll hop from alarm to alarm all fucking day. You wont catch me, I’ll be like a jackrabbit. You wont get a single audition in.
ALAN

He stands up and begins to walk down the hall.
